Baseball at National

National is a recreational league that offers five divisions of play for players of all skill levels.  Every player is welcome at National, regardless of whether they have played baseball before, as a long as they are eligible under the rules established by Little League International.

Little League requires us to establish two dimensions of eligibility: age and residency/school of attendance.

While the divisions described below are generally broken down by age, the league's Board ultimately holds discretion about a which division may be most appropriate for a player based on their age, experience, skill level and the safety of other players.

Believe in your players! We hear often from parents or guardians who are concerned that their player is too inexperienced or lacks the skill to advance to the next division with their peers. Trust that they will rise to the challenge!

Due to the need to maintain competitive balance, coaching and teammate requests are only accepted in the T-Ball and Rookie divisions. This means it may be necessary to separate friend groups and classmates in Farm, AAA and Majors to ensure a better experience for all players.

Our Divisions

T-Ball (Ages 4-5)

This division is an introduction to baseball for our youngest players, with the main emphasis on having fun. Players hit from a tee, and there are no strikes or outs in these two-inning games designed to teach basic skills.

Farm (Ages 7-8)

In Farm ball, our players graduate to a larger field and a 4-inning game in which outs and runs are recorded. Players begin the season hitting off a pitching machine, and kids will begin pitching as their skill and confidence develops.

Majors (Ages 11-12)

This is Little League's highest level, at which advanced gameplay and strategy are taught. While Majors play is competitive, the emphasis remains on player development and preparing players for the next level of baseball.

Rookie (Ages 5-6)

Rookie ball is played by the same rules and on the same field as T-Ball only with coaches pitching. Again, the emphasis here is on skill development and becoming familiar with the mechanics of playing baseball.

AAA (Ages 9-11)

In AAA, our players graduate to a 6-inning, fully kid-pitch game on our largest field. Players will learn about stealing and more advanced base-running as team's look to develop more skilled pitchers and catchers. Players are assigned teams via draft.
